As part of the R+D project "Ferrofluvial 4.0 – Research focus for the evaluation and prioritization of technologies aimed at electromobility and their penetration and impacts on the strengthening of productive chains in Colombia in its railway and river modes" it has developed this work in which it seeks to show the basic characteristics of a cabotage vessel for the Colombian fleet fluvial, and likewise perform the respective power calculations for the propulsion system and auxiliary equipment with the mathematical methods most used in the construction of ships today; to leave a conceptual design of the engine room the cabotage vessel that can be properly performed for these river basins of our territory also considering the four pillars of the National Energy Model in order to achieve energy migration: security and reliability in supply, mitigation and adaptation to climate change, competitiveness and economic development, and knowledge and innovation. Results of the designs of the propulsion system, power generation, firefighting, fuel storage, ventilation system and general arrangement of the engine room willbe presented in this work.
