Influence of Drug Trafficking on ARC Personnel and its Impact on Naval Operations in the Caribbean Naval Force

Abstract

With the rise of drug trafficking and the impact on the part of structures that criminal intelligence at their service, a strong interest in subverting officials of the National Navy of Colombia who can develop espionage and sabotage activities, affecting naval and intelligence operations in exchange for economic contributions. With regard to this phenomenon of study and the role of Naval Counter-intelligence, It is necessary to know the main risk factors to which ARC officials are exposed, the role of penetrating agents, and how finally an official who, due to his inauguration, is a role model, agrees to their claims. Once these items have been identified, there will be an effective guiding element at all levels for the protection, management and dissemination of operational information, first denying the leakage of information by officials of the institution and secondly denying the criminal intelligence structures at the service of drug trafficking the free use of maritime and river corridors for their irregular activities. Finally, this scientific article would be aimed at ensuring that commanders at all levels can prevent, detect and neutralize the threats that loom over the crew of the Caribbean Naval Force, seeking at all times the preservation of the force and the institutional image in which the navy is perceived as a legal and transparent institution in each of its operational processes.
